Somatic Inquiry Sessions
What is a Somatic Inquiry Session?
A somatic inquiry session is a gentle, body-centered exploration that invites you to listen deeply to your own inner experience. These sessions recognise that trauma, stress, and unresolved experiences live not only in the mind but also in the body.
Rather than focusing solely on story, analysis or intelectually processing, we slow down and attune to the subtle language of the body—sensations, impulses, emotions, and images. Together, we create a safe and supportive space where your nervous system can begin to unwind and release at its own pace.
What does a Session look & feel like?
Together we will attune to what feels present in the body in the moment, gently moving towards noticing sensations—such as warmth, tension, vibration, or breath, textures and rhythms—without judgment.
From here we gently move between felt senses and calm states to support integration and release.
Together we will work on orienting towards resourcing, cultivating a felt sense of safety, grounding, and inner wisdom & strength.
As we hold and embody discovered resources, at the clients own pace with their inner wisdom at the forefront they are then gently guided and oriented towards completion, allowing the body to feel and finish any responses that may have been interrupted in the past.
What does somatic inquiry feel like?
Clients often describe the process as spacious, curious, freeing and empowering. Some describe the sessions as an deeply attuned active meditation - a safe space to release emotions and sensations. It is not about reliving experiences and trauma, but about carefully meeting and transforming the imprints it left behind. Through this mindful engagement, the body begins to restore balance, resilience, and a renewed freer sense of being and wholeness.
Every session is unique and guided by your pace, your needs, and your body’s innate wisdom.
Each session will meet you tenderly where you are at, holding what may emerge with care and safety without judgment.
Sessions range between an hour and an hour and half.
